The Gwiggles

The Gwiggles are a five-piece indie rock band that formed at Berklee College of Music. Their songs are packed with memorable ukulele riffs, exciting bass fills, energetic drums, story-telling lyrics, and awesome guitar solos.

Clark — the band’s ukulele player, lead singer, and lyricist — has a background in creative writing as the former head of a literary magazine. He fixates each EP around a theme and often utilizes his singing and (drummer) Garrett’s back-up singing to differentiate dialogue between in-song characters.

Their music has a wide collection of influences, all contributing to the band’s unique sound. Clark is an avid fan of The Backseat Lovers, Black Country New Road, and Irish jigs. Garrett loves King Gizzard and Pond. Shreyaas, the band’s bassist, is deep into video game music and funk. Brice, the band’s guitarist, adds a more jam-bandy, blues-rock element to the group, with his love of The Grateful Dead, Jimmy Hendrix, and Frank Zappa. John, the band’s everything-ist — morphing from guitarist, to pianist, to saxophonist depending on the song — is into folk and musical theatre.

They all are united by a love of whimsy and music. The Gwiggles strive to have fun on stage and spread that joy to their audience.
